We had a great Memorial Day Weekend!! My mom and I went to Cape to visit Lauren & Brian. They just moved to Cape from Anna, IL. We got to see Brian's new office. He was on call all weekend and super busy. We got to see the bad sides of being a vet. He received calls all throughout the night from people with sick pets. Their pets of course felt bad all week but they waited to call during Memorial Day weekend and late too! It was interesting to say the least. The girls did a lot of shopping. I got some cute dresses for my Hollywood trip! We went to some really cool stores in Downtown Cape and Jackson. On Monday, Jon got rained out of the field so we decided to go to the air show. But it was on Saturday & Sunday so we decided to go to the Memorial Day parade instead. It was so cool to see all the veterans in the parade. They were all so proud and happy to represent us. It gave me chills sometimes. Plus, we saw lots of shriners. Jon and I both love them. I am not sure if you ever grow out of loving the Shriners in their little cars. However, these guys were from the Lake & were crazy!! I have never seen Shriners drive so crazy, fast & reckless during a parade. I was like, please hold your kids back! They had one guy in a semi that I swear was about to turn over. It was really awesome & made us laugh. We then went to the Courthouse for a service. It was nice to see all the veterans dressed in their uniforms & honoring their own. Then we had lunch on the patio at boone Tavern. Later in the day we went on a 4 mile bide ride on the trial by our house. Jon had already ran 4 miles earlier in the day. I am terribly out of shape and had to stop a couple of times. Later that day we bbq'd with our neighbors the Lucas'. It was a great weekend!! I have a few pics below in a slide show.

The Hills Here We Come
I am very excited to report that I am going on a girls trip to Hollywood! I told Jon that I really wanted to do some traveling before we had kids. I didn't do that so now that I am in a stand still I have decided to travel! I am going with my good friends, Beth, Carrie and Julie. We are all big fans of the show "The Hills" and are going to definitely check out the same hot spots they frequent. We are very excited! We are staying at Hotel Roosevelt which is a Hollywood landmark and celeb fav. We will all be very disappointed if we don't see some celebs on this trip. We are also going on one of those cheesy star tours so we can check out the stars homes. We will be true tourists without the fanny packs! :) Our hotel is awesome! You can check it out at http://www.hotelroosevelt.com/ We also plan to go to Les Deux, S Bar or Goa at night. We will also probably try to do lunch at the Ivy and drink some coffee and celeb watch. We also want to try to go to the beach and Rodeo Drive. I hope we can get it all done! :) I will definitely post lost of pics when we get back!

Forever My Child
We received a charm from the hospital with a beautiful poem I want to share. This charm was donated by a couple who lost their triplets. They were so touched by the memory packet the hospital gives you they decided to donate something to everyone. I thought that was so special and was so touched by this poem.
You are a Precious Child Created out of love, a blessing from above.
I've adored you from the start,
and your little footprints touched my heart.
A single teardtop represents the millions I have cried.
My life never the same since you died.
I wish you could have stayed longer with me,
I'd watch you grow into all you could be.
Although we are apart,
You are always in my heart.
I dream of a joyful time when we will be reunited once again.
Thoughts of you make me smile,
You will always be My Forever Child.

Thank you to everyone who has sent us cards and emails. I am trying to respond to emails in a timely manner. It is hard because we have been blessed with so many. Plus, keeping up at work!! :) Please know how much we appreciate it. I also want to say thank you to those who have shared your stories with us. Most of all thank you for those of you who continue to pray and think of us.

Baby McCarty 4.3.08
Hello Everyone,
I am sad to report that Jon and I lost our precious child last week. You may think why is Brooke posting such a private matter??? I know a lot of you do not know and I would much rather people know then come and ask me how I am doing, tell me that I not showing much, the fears go on in my head. Anyway, so I wanted to at least let everyone know what was going on for that reason and to also ask you for your prayers. This is by far the hardest and most painful thing I have ever been through in my life. I now believe people who always told me you can't imagine how much love you will have for your child. I never got to meet my child alive but experienced four months of bliss while he was with me. Yes, it was a little boy. Life feels so unfair right now. We tried so hard to have a baby and then it was taken from us. My mind keeps wondering why is it so easy for others? Again, please pray for us to heal. Please don't be afraid to leave messages on my account or email me at Brooke@WeichertFT.com. I am saving everything and putting all together for a memory book of Baby Boy McCarty.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers,
Brooke

Baby Bump at 14 Weeks
I know everyone wants to know the progress of the baby bump. I had Jon take a couple of pics last week to share and am just now getting around to uploading them. They are not very good but are better than nothing. This is me at 14 weeks. I didn't want my face in them because I was getting ready for bed and had no makeup on. :) I also thought it would be a cute idea to put a bow around the baby like it was a present but it didn't fit around the bump so work with me.
Our next Dr's appointment is April 1st. We find out the sex of the baby on May 1st. I have a new ultrasound to upload but need to unpack my scanner first so I can upload it.
Well it won't let me upload at this time so I will try again later.....

Telling Aunt Lauren & Uncle Brian
A couple of weekends ago we were able to meet my Sister, Brother-in-law and Mother in St. Louis. This is when we were able to tell Lauren and Brian about our pregnancy. We were so excited to tell them in person. I have a couple of pictures to share of the event. The best is when I told them as we were toasting. Lauren was so exicted she bumped my arm and spilled my drink. It was so funny and by far the best reaction we have received. Lauren and Brian are so excited about their new roles and Aunt and Uncle. We are trying out names with them now. Brian is thinking, Uncle BoBo! :) LOL We'll see!

Baby Makes Three
We are excited to share our good news with you! The McCarty’s are having a McBaby! (that is for all you Grey’s Anatomy fans) We are expecting our new arrival around September 11th. We ask for you to keep us in your prayers and thoughts. We hope to have a healthy baby join our family. I am almost 10 weeks along. I have not had any morning sickness yet! I know I am lucky. However, I’ve had many other unpleasant symptoms. Mainly being tired which Jon just can’t come to terms with. Lol! I will try to be better at tracking our progress on our blog. We will definitely find out the sex of the baby so will also keep you posted with that in April. We have our next dr’s appointment March 3rd. This is such an exciting time in our lives and we wanted to share with you! Again, thank you for praying for our little one.
Take care,
Brooke, Jon and Baby McCarty
